Design

A quick glance is enough to see that the B-Class is no ordinary car. Take a longer look and the fascination merely grows. The aggressively styled bonnet, the striking rear, the wide track and sculpted wings all add up to a sporty, dynamic whole. It’s a package that combines striking design, optimum comfort and great versatility within a highly compact exterior.

Driving safety

The headlamps on the B-Class are attractively designed and extend some way into the sides of the vehicle. The completely transparent lenses provide extra brilliance, as well as showing off the high-technology inside. All models have projection beam headlamps as standard. As an option, Bi-Xenon headlamps with Active Light System and cornering light in the main headlamp – plus a headlamp cleaning system – are available.

Comfort

The centrally-positioned console of the Mercedes-Benz B-Class houses the important functions of the latest generation of communication and climate control systems. Everything is arranged in a logical order and is flanked on either side with aluminium trim strips to give an overall sporty appearance. Storage compartments and a cup holder are also situated here, keeping everything within easy reach. A practical sliding armrest, adjustable for fore-aft position and with an integrated drawer, is mounted on the tunnel, along with the handbrake lever.

Driving dynamics

The Mercedes-Benz B-Class comes with either a 5-speed or 6-speed transmission as standard, depending on your choice of engine. Mercedes-Benz is also proud to present the latest generation in automatic transmission technology – AUTOTRONIC - first employed in the A-Class. This is an optional continuously variable transmission system that constantly adapts to your driving style, balancing performance and comfort while reducing fuel consumption and emissions.

Passenger protection

The B-Class comes equipped with fully padded head restraints, front and rear, which can be adjusted for height and angle. An Active Safety feature means that in a rear-end impact the front head restraints pitch forward by 35mm, thus restraining the rearward movement of the head sooner and reducing the risk of whiplash injury.
